Institute Description

Thinking with the Whole Body – Using the Power of Action to Deepen Understanding of Theory and Implications of Data

Memorizing research data or clearly articulating a theory doesn’t necessarily mean that we can translate those knowings into practice in our personal or professional lives. In this institute we will:
• Examine the differences between direct and indirect learning.
• Practice bridging data from numbers to action.
• Evaluate activities that deepen understanding of theory in ways that lead to perception, attitude, and behavior changes.

Bring a piece of data or one TA theory you would like the group to experiment with. Bring your openness, imagination, and willingness to learn from and with your colleagues.

Professional Involvement:
Member of International Transactional Analysis Association, National Council on Family Relations and the Minnesota Council on Family Relations, National Association for the Education of Young Children and Minnesota Association for the Education of Young Children, former Editorial board member for Family Information Services, and founding member (1995) of NPEN, National Parent Educators Network.

Pensando con todo el cuerpo – Usando el poder de la acción para ahondar en la comprensión de la teoría y la implicación de los datos.

El poder memorizar los datos de las investigaciones o articular claramente la teoría no significa necesariamente que podamos traducir esos conocimientos en la práctica en nuestra vida profesional o personal. En el instituto:

• Examinaremos las diferencias entre aprendizaje directo e indirecto.
• Practicar el puenteo entre los datos numéricos y la acción.
• Evaluar las actividad que profundizan en la comprensión de la teoría en la manera en que ésta lleva a la percepción, actitud, y los cambios de comportamiento.

Trae al instituto algún dato o una teoría del AT con el que te gustaría que el grupo experimente. Trae también tu disposición, tu imaginación y tu voluntad para aprender de y con tus colegas.

Implicación profesional:
Miembro de la International Transactional Analysis Association,'National Council on Family Relations and the Minnesota Council on Family Relations, National Association for the Education of Young Children and Minnesota Association for the Education of Young Children, miembro en el pasado de la dirección editorial para Family Information Services y miembro fundador de National Parent Educators Network (1995).
